"Let's say no to drug addiction" at Ganja Medical College on 20.12.2022. an educational event was held.
The event was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Babek Sadigov, the head of the department for organizing preventive work with minors of Ganja City Police Department, Deputy Chief of Ganja City Police Department, police colonel Ahmed Jalilov.
Mehman Rzayev, the director of our college, opened the event first and declared the event open, welcoming the guests, doctors and teachers and students.
Mehman Rzayev said in his speech that "Drug addiction is a disease that creates mental dependence on drug poisons. People with this disease isolate themselves from society. This changes their attitude towards the people around them. Such people can be found in every class of society. Drug addiction knows no borders, just like the geography of illegal drug trafficking. This terrible disease is equally dangerous for everyone, regardless of religion, language, race, social status. It promotes the rapid increase of AIDS, slows down socio-economic development, and destroys families. Doctors treat any disease in their field, and if necessary, radical surgical methods are used. However, drug addiction cannot be eliminated only by the power of medical workers. All the forces of the society should unite in the fight against this problem," he said.
Later, those who spoke at the event talked about the work done in our country, including in the city of Ganja, in order to prevent drug addiction, and spoke about the uncompromising and decisive steps taken by the law enforcement agencies in order to prevent the illegal circulation of drugs.
In particular, they noted the necessity of continuous organization of such educational events in terms of building a healthy youth and a reliable future.
