On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the ophthalmologist-scientist, noble lady, real mother, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, who made great contributions to the Azerbaijani medical science with her knowledge and skills, a conference called "Zarifa Aliyeva - the great love of the National Leader" was held in Ganja Medical College. Before the conference, the participants of the event laid flowers in front of the statue of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and expressed their respect and reverence to the genius. Then the event continued in the assembly hall of the college. The meeting was attended by the director of the college, honored doctor Mehman Rzayev, deputy chairman of the Ganja Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, Nureddin Ibrahimov, the college's doctor-teacher team, and students. The conference began with the singing of the Azerbaijani national anthem. Then, the spirit of national leader Heydar Aliyev, ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva and our martyrs who died for the integrity of Azerbaijan and the freedom of their lands were commemorated with a minute of silence.

"The character of Zarifa Aliyeva, an ophthalmologist-scientist and academician, who is one of the most beautiful faces of the intellectual woman of Azerbaijan, has concentrated three great qualities, such as responsibility, hard work and kindness. Mrs. Zarifa, who honorably bears the great responsibility of being the child of the outstanding statesman and scientist Aziz Aliyev, distinguished herself with her exemplary activity as a doctor and scientist, and wrote her name in golden letters in the history of ophthalmology." These thoughts were expressed by the director of the college, Honored doctor Mehman Rzayev, at the event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, who earned a place in the hearts of Ganja Medical College with her care and nobility. He noted that the opinion of the great scientist, "A doctor should experience the patient's pain as his own pain", is still very relevant today. As a true scientist, Z. Aliyeva has overcome all difficulties, achieved important scientific achievements thanks to her intellectual responsibility to the motherland, deep knowledge and world view. M. Rzayev also pointed out that Ms. Zarifa Aliyeva was awarded the award named after academician M. Averbakh of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR for a number of original discoveries in the field of studying and preventing eye injuries. The director noted that Ms. Zarifa was the first female scientist to receive this award in the former USSR.

Then a documentary film about the life and activities of the outstanding scientist Zarifa Aliyeva was shown.

"At the same time, Mrs. Zarifa was the architect and founder of the modern, independent state of Azerbaijan, the faithful life-day companion, faithful friend and reliable comrade-in-arms of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, a genius who dedicated his whole meaningful life to the progress of his homeland and people. The genius repeatedly emphasized in his speeches that the role of Mrs. Zarifa in his life is very important and as a political leader he always supported Heydar Aliyev. These views were voiced during speeches at the conference. Then the interview titled "Unforgettable National Leader Heydar Aliyev's sincere conversation about Mrs. Zarifa" was shown.

Other speakers at the event remembered the main moments of the life and activities of Mrs. Zarifa and noted that during her many years of activity, the outstanding scientist healed several eyes, performed the most difficult and complex operations, and illuminated the dark world of the visually impaired or completely blind. In this work, he was supported not only by his knowledge, education and competence, but also by his high qualities derived from genes and the family in which he grew up.

Speaking at the conference, the deputy chairman of the Ganja Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, Nureddin Ibrahimov, noted that Mrs. Zarifa, who played an active role in the life of the society, had a gentle heart and great nobility, was a woman extremely devoted to her family, a wonderful mother. Combining her mission of motherhood with her beloved profession, this lady served the development of society as a woman, a scientist and a doctor. Mrs. Zarifa coped with her duties as a mother very well. Today, our political leader Ilham Aliyev, who was brought up by Zarifa, who embodies the image of a real Azerbaijani lady, lives in her heart the love of the Motherland that her family and parents gave her:
