Characteristics of the Graduate's Field of Specialization

Place of specialty in healthcare:

A pharmacist (pharmacist's assistant) is trained to work in pharmacies, supervision of medical instruments, devices and machines, sanitary and hygiene stores, analytical laboratories, and warehouses of pharmacies.

A graduate of the "Pharmaceutical" department should know and be able to:

- Laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan and legal normative acts related to healthcare;

- Basic principles of medical ethics and deontology;

- The rights and duties of a medical worker in treatment and prevention institutions;

- Organization and structure of work in treatment and sanitary-prophylactic institutions;

- Organization of providing medical and medical-social assistance to the population;

- Organization of sanitary-prophylactic regime in treatment-prevention institutions;

- Theoretical foundations of nursing work;

- Physical and chemical properties of medicinal preparations;

- The prescription of medicinal preparations and their effect on the human body;

- The assortment of medical goods, the theoretical bases of the technology of pharmaceutical forms;

- Order of receiving and issuing prescriptions (copy);

- The structure of small mechanizations, apparatus and devices in pharmacies and their use;

- To detect and prevent signs of drug deterioration;

- Conditions of storage of medicines;

- All basic legal guidelines in the organization of pharmacy work;

- Compilation of medical documents;

- Sanitary education work;

- Conducting anthropometric measurements;

- Provision of medical assistance in urgent situations;

- Counting the frequency of breathing movements, measuring the body temperature, counting the pulse, measuring the arterial pressure;

- Performing diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations (injections, enemas, parenteral nutrition, placing urinary catheters, etc.) based on the doctor's appointment;

- General principles of patient care;

- Reading the prescriptions entered in the pharmacy;

- Prescription powders, aqueous solutions, liniments and ointments, injection solutions, eye ointments, etc. preparation;

- Preparation of brewing, cooking;

- To check the correct writing of doses of toxic and strong active substances, narcotic substances, according to their DF;

- To place the rules of use of DF, prepared medicines in cabinets by groups;

- Sterilization methods of medicinal substances, using autoclaves;

- To abandon the stabilizers used in the preparation of injection drugs;

- Dilution of standard solutions;

- To operate the equipment used in the pharmacy.
