"In recent years, Azerbaijan has become an authority in the international world by taking important steps in the field of environmental protection and combating climate change. The transition to a "green" economy in our country and becoming a "green" energy supply are among the priorities of the economic policy. It is no coincidence that 2024 was declared the "year of solidarity for the sake of a green world" in Azerbaijan by the order of the head of state Ilham Aliyev, and our lands freed from occupation are "green energy" The action plan for the years 2022-2026 has been approved, and it is planned to transform these areas into a "Net Zero Emission" zone by 2050. As a result of all these actions, Azerbaijan is at the forefront of the world's transition to a "Green" economy will be among those who leave."

These views were expressed by the director of the college, Honored Doctor Mehman Rzayev, at the conference entitled "COP-29 and transition to the "Green" economy in Azerbaijan" held at the Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health. According to him, our country is making large-scale preparations to improve its climate policy and host COP 29. Azerbaijan is implementing a number of measures to reduce carbon emissions, develop alternative energy sources and increase environmental sustainability. These measures include the expansion of solar and wind energy projects, the introduction of new technologies to improve energy efficiency and "green" standards in urban planning. Mehman Rzayev emphasized that every citizen should make his contribution in this field, and noted the importance of protecting greenery, planting new trees and providing them with care, and fighting to prevent the release of waste and gases into the atmosphere that could cause climate change.

The conference continued with the screening of the film about "Azerbaijan and COP 29".

Matanat Aliyeva, the doctor-teacher of the college who spoke next, started the war against Azerbaijan by the Armenians and the forces supporting them, which resulted in the occupation of our lands for nearly 30 years, the destruction of cities and villages, the genocide of the civilian population, and at the same time, the destruction of plants and He talked about the destruction of the animal world. He stressed that since the military conflict and war were conducted only in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the atmosphere, water sources and our lands were exposed to biological, chemical and physical pollution:

"Armenia's armed forces have not followed the accepted international normative legal documents and laws on the protection of the natural environment in the territories occupied by them. So, during the monitoring in the territories freed from occupation, we once again witnessed the looting of our natural resources and the cutting of perennial valuable trees in the forests. In the direction of the Gazakh region, along the Murov mountain range, in the direction of Aghdara, in the forest area of Talish, Gulustan, Baranbart, 100 hectares of beech, gum, blueberry, pine, oak, etc. perennial trees were cut down and transported to Armenia. All this is environmental terrorism. Now Azerbaijan is carrying out large-scale works to restore the ecological balance from the historical lands they freed, and in the coming years those greenery will be restored," M. Aliyeva added.

Then a film was shown about the environmental terrorism carried out by Armenians in the historical lands of Azerbaijan.

Other speaking speakers also said that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to innovation and technology in the fight against climate change, and that it is trying to strengthen environmental sustainability by applying new technologies, especially in the field of waste management, efficient use of water resources, and reduction of harmful gases released into the atmosphere. It was noted that these innovations allow both the improvement of the country's ecological situation and the effective use of renewable energy sources. The government of Azerbaijan implements various measures in this field based on public responsibility, as well as the fact that education plays an important role in protecting the environment.
