Khojaly tragedy was commemorated in Ganja Medical College

A memorial ceremony dedicated to the 28th anniversary of "February 26 - Khojaly Genocide" was organized in Ganja Medical College.

Speaking at the official part of the event, the teacher of the college, veteran of Karabakh, Mehabbat Iskenderov, said that massacres were committed by Armenian usurpers from time to time in the history of the Azerbaijani people. Khojaly tragedy is the most terrible among them.

"Our young people should never forget the vandalism committed by Armenian fascists against our compatriots and should use all modern opportunities to convey the truth of the Khojaly horror to the world community," added M. Iskanderov.

After other speakers gave speeches about the bitter truth of that terrible night, a video depicting the Khojaly tragedy prepared by teachers and students of Ganja Medical College was shown.

It was emphasized at the event that on the night of February 25-26, 1992, Armenian armed forces committed genocide against Azerbaijanis in the city of Khojaly with the participation of the 366th motorized rifle regiment of Russia. As a result, 613 residents of Khojaly were killed, including 63 children, 106 women, and 70 old people, 8 families were completely destroyed, 25 children lost both parents, and 130 children lost one of their parents. 487 people, including 76 children, were injured by enemy bullets. 1275 people were captured. The fate of 150 people, including 68 women and 26 children, is still unknown.

At the end, various compositions and poems staged with the participation of college students were presented.
