On October 19, a scientific-practical conference on "The role of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in promoting the heritage of Western Azerbaijan" was organized at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Ganja. At the event, the head of the Ganja City Executive Niyazi Bayramov, the chairman of the Baku Club of Political Scientists Zaur Mammadov, the chairman of the YAP Ganja city organization Bayram Aslanov, MPs Parvin Karimzade, Musa Guliyev, the head of the Ganja organization of the West Azerbaijan Community Mubariz Yusifov, the director of the Ganja Medical College Mehman Rzayev, the doctor of the college - teaching staff, other departments, enterprises, organization heads, city intellectuals and public representatives participated.

First, the participants of the event visited the monument of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers in front of it.

    The event began with the singing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Later, the memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence, and a video clip was shown about President Ilham Aliyev's policy in West Azerbaijan.

   Speaking at the conference, Niyazi Bayramov emphasized that National Leader Heydar Aliyev has always kept the issue of West Azerbaijan in mind. Addressing the relevance of the topic, the head of the city emphasized the importance of measures taken in this direction. Niyazi Bayramov also noted the importance of doing consistent work on the subject of Western Azerbaijan in higher education institutions.

     Zaur Mammadov informed the audience about the goals of the project "The role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in promoting the heritage of Western Azerbaijan". He gave a broad speech on the topic "Return to the historical lands of Azerbaijan is our national priority: President Ilham Aliyev's goal of Western Azerbaijan".

    Speakers at the conference talked about the activity of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in promoting the heritage of Western Azerbaijan, the illegal transfer of Azerbaijani lands to Armenians, and the importance of the Zangezur corridor in the return process. In addition, they talked about their memories of West Azerbaijan and the vandalism of Armenian nationalists during the deportation of Azerbaijanis.

     At the conference, a collection of articles entitled "Western Azerbaijan: historical - political aspects" was presented to the event participants.
