A conference dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at Ganja Medical College under the Ministry of Health. The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of our lands.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, the director of the college, Honored Doctor Mehman Rzayev, spoke about the exceptional services of the great leader Heydar Aliyev— the savior son of our nation, the founder and architect of the modern Azerbaijani state, and a statesman who earned the eternal love of the people — in establishing and developing the traditions of national statehood. He emphasized that the life and political activity of the National Leader occupy a special place in the modern history of Azerbaijan.

“The Great Leader Heydar Aliyev led Azerbaijan during two different and even completely opposite political formations in separate periods of time. It should be unequivocally stated that it was precisely thanks to Heydar Aliyev’s dedicated work, effective management, farsighted leadership, and outstanding organizational abilities that Azerbaijan developed rapidly and comprehensively, becoming one of the leading republics both during the Soviet period and in the years of independence,” Mehman Rzayev added.

The director of the college also noted that the architect of Azerbaijan’s achievements today under the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev is the great personality Heydar Aliyev.

Speaking at the conference, Matanat Nabizada, Deputy Chairperson of the Territorial Party Organization No. 7 of the Ganja City Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, spoke about the historic decisions made by the great leader Heydar Aliyev as a political leader, as well as the work he carried out to ensure Azerbaijan’s recognition throughout the world and its acceptance as an independent state. The speaker noted that the favorable conditions created in Azerbaijan today — including opportunities for people to receive professional education and efforts aimed at protecting the health of citizens — were laid during the period of governance of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and are being successfully continued today by his worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev.

At the end of the event, poems and dances prepared by the students of the college were presented, and a documentary film reflecting the life and activities of the National Leader was shown.
