
At the Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health, a conference titled “The Continuation of Progress and Development – The Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” was held in support of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), one of the prestigious events that our country will host.
The speakers at the event discussed the achievements Azerbaijan has made in recent years in the field of urban planning and infrastructure, as well as modern projects implemented under the leadership of the country’s leadership. It was noted that Baku hosting WUF13 in 2026 is another confirmation of our country’s growing prestige in the international arena and its success in the field of urban development.
At the conference, physician-lecturer of Ganja Medical College Gulshan Baghirova delivered an extensive presentation titled “WUF13 – The World Urban Forum in Baku”, touching upon the impact of urbanization processes on human health and quality of life. She emphasized the role of modern urban planning standards, as well as the concepts of “smart cities” and “green zones”, in protecting the ecological environment and noted that the forum to be held in Baku will provide a unique opportunity to bring global experience in this field to our country.
Other speakers also highlighted that the large-scale reconstruction work carried out in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as projects such as “Smart Village” and examples of modern architecture, serve as a model for the world.
At the end of the conference, a video film titled “Safe and Sustainable Cities – WUF-13” was shown.
