A conference titled “Corruption is a scourge of society” was held at Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health. During the meeting, the college’s physician-lecturers Gulshen Baghirova, Gulnara Mustafayeva, and Metanit Nebizade emphasized that corruption is one of the main factors hindering development in every sphere of society. They noted that corruption negatively affects progressive development and poses a serious threat to economic and social progress. It was also highlighted that the existence of corruption damages both national and universal values and undermines the structure of a democratic and law-based state. Cases of corruption contradict the values of honesty and justice, gradually reduce social trust, threaten the welfare of society, and are regarded as criminal acts that hinder socio-economic development. At the end of the event, a video clip titled “Corruption is a scourge of society” was presented.

The fight against corruption was also discussed during a roundtable and seminar organized at the college. The speakers emphasized that reforms are being carried out in the country to ensure the continuity of anti-corruption measures and to prevent situations that create conditions for bribery. In this direction, the main objectives include the development of governance mechanisms within state institutions, the formation of an anti-corruption environment in the private sector in accordance with international standards, and the improvement of the legislative framework based on progressive international practices.
