A conference on the theme “Azerbaijan’s independence is eternal, permanent, and irrevocable” was held at the Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty”. The National Anthem was played at the event, and a minute of silence was observed in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.

In his opening speech at the conference, the director of the college, Honored Doctor Mehman Rzayev emphasized that special attention is always paid to the issues of strengthening Azerbaijani statehood, protecting and preserving national and spiritual values ​​in the events held within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty”. He noted that respect for statehood traditions, the spirit of patriotism, and the formation of social responsibility in the younger generation are among the priorities of the college.

Then, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Teacher of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Member of the Board of the Republican Veterans Organization Ibrahim Guliyev, who attended the conference as a guest, spoke about the adoption of the Constitution of Azerbaijan, the form of government in the country, the restoration of sovereignty in our country, and the liberation of our lands during the 44-day Patriotic War.

In his congratulatory message to the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of November 12 - Constitution Day, the speaker recalled the thoughts of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev: “This Constitution is the logical result of the historical development path passed by the Azerbaijani people. The Constitution creates a comprehensive basis and conditions for ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens in our country, preserving and strengthening our independent statehood, and implementing democratic changes. The fact that it reflects the historical past, current realities, and future development prospects of Azerbaijan, and is based on universal and national values, are the main features that characterize our Constitution.”

The professor emphasized that the Constitution of Azerbaijan includes a number of fundamental principles: the democratic formation of state authorities; respect for the human personality and dignity; the existence of effective mechanisms for the protection of human rights; achieving social justice; commitment to universal values, etc.

In his lecture, I. Guliyev stated that the heroism of our victorious army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev during the 44-day war and the liberation of our lands, which had been under occupation for 30 years at the cost of the blood of our martyrs, were written in golden letters in the annals of our country's independence. The speaker emphasized that Azerbaijan is now a fully independent and sovereign state, and that our Constitution and laws have been fully restored throughout the country.
