The importance of debate culture and proper communication skills was discussed at the Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health. The leadership of the Ganja regional debate center, speaking at the event, based on their professional experience, provided detailed information on the importance of debate for students, the history and successes of the Ganja Medical College Debate Club, as well as the advantages of debate, what work has been done in recent years regarding debate, and what benefits debate will bring to students. It was noted that debate is an interactive and discussion method consisting of representatives of different opposing sides, and unlike deductive reasoning that only analyzes the result, factual argumentation that only determines whether something is true, and rhetoric that only consists of persuasion tactics, it reflects a broader concept:
“In debate, logical continuity, accuracy of facts, and emotional appeal to the audience play an important role in persuasion, and the party that can justify the issue in a superior context and framework, more skillfully, surpasses the other. In debate, the consensus or joint formal conclusion reached by the parties among themselves plays a key role rather than facts. In formal debate competitions, there are certain rules and frameworks that apply to each of the parties,” it was emphasized in the speeches.
At the end of the event, questions of interest to students regarding debate were answered.
