Within the framework of the “Children's Rights Month” covering the dates of October 20 - November 20, a lecture and round table on the topic “Protecting Children's Rights” was held at the Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health.

At the round table, the college's doctor-teacher Zargalam Jafarova emphasized that children are the future of Azerbaijan and that every child is considered an equal member of society from the moment of birth:

“In the rule of law, the upbringing of a healthy citizen is of particular importance. The existence of individuals who are serious, fanatical in their attitude towards people, people, and statehood, and who follow the rules of humanity is considered the foundation of society. Good people create a good society. Therefore, we must protect our children, who are considered the core of society, and respect their rights so that they can feel like true citizens from their childhood, as our future and successors,” added Jafarova.

In the lecture titled “Let’s Protect Children’s Rights,” college teacher Leyla Ismayilova noted that the protection of the rights of all children in the world from the day they are born, such as education, health, shelter, and protection against physical, psychological, or sexual abuse, is regulated by law:

“The protection of children’s rights in Azerbaijan is based on the “Declaration of the Rights of the Child” adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1959, as well as the Convention on the Rights of the Child, adopted in 1989 and ratified by Azerbaijan. In our country, in accordance with the principles of this convention, legislation is regulated by the Law “On the Rights of the Child” adopted in 1998,” added L. Ismayilova.
