The Ministry of Health held an event on November 17 - National Revival Day at the Ganja Medical College. The event, which began with the playing of the National Anthem, commemorated the dear memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs with a minute of silence.
The students of the college who spoke spoke about the importance of November 17 - National Revival Day for the Azerbaijani people. They noted that on November 17, 1988, the Azerbaijani people's united rise against the empire by raising their voice for freedom was a turning point on the path to its revival.
The spiritual foundations of November 17, which went down in our history as National Revival Day, actually began in the late 60s of the last century, when the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev led Azerbaijan. Heydar Aliyev, who brought a healthy spirit and self-awareness to the people, attached special importance to national-spiritual values, the revival of science and culture, despite the strict prohibitions of the Soviet ideology. Azerbaijan entered a period of true renaissance and revival. It was on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev that an army of nationally spirited scientists and intellectuals studying in different countries of the world was formed. This moral, psychological, and economic base created by the Great Leader in the Republic became the support of the people after the collapse of the Soviet Union about 20 years later.
On November 17, 1990, at the first session of the Supreme Soviet of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in a new composition, the tricolor flag of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was adopted as the State flag and a petition was filed with the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan in this regard. Thus, the beginning of the path from national revival to national progress was laid.
At the end, the students recited poems on the Day of National Revival.
