A conference entitled “The Great Return to Free Karabakh” was held at the Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health on the eve of the 5th anniversary of the liberation of our lands from occupation thanks to the heroism of the brave army of Azerbaijan. The event began with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of the souls of our martyrs who died for the freedom of our lands. The director of the college, Honored Doctor Mehman Rzayev, who spoke at the event, spoke about the most honorable and golden victory in the history of Azerbaijan, the Karabakh Victory. He emphasized that after the appeal of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, our people united closely around the “Iron Fist” and, relying on truth and justice, liberated all our occupied lands, even at the cost of their lives and blood.

“Our 44-day struggle for the freedom of our ancient and historical lands, written in golden letters in our history, resulted in a brilliant victory for Azerbaijan. Our lands were liberated, and today reconstruction and construction work is underway in Karabakh and East Zangezur at a great pace. Our liberated cities and villages are being rebuilt. Our compatriots are now returning to their ancestral lands. This is a historic victory,” M. Rzayev added.

Then, the college’s medical teachers and students spoke about the cities of Lachin, Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Zangilan, Gubadli, Shusha, Agdam, and Kalbajar, which were liberated from occupation and whose city days were celebrated by the order of President Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that today, infrastructure is being restored in all liberated territories, new schools, hospitals, and residential buildings are being built. Our compatriots, who were once forcibly expelled from their ancestral lands, are returning to their homes, to their native lands.

Then, poems and songs dedicated to Karabakh and our liberated lands were performed by college students.

The conference ended with the screening of the documentary film "The Great Return to Free Karabakh".
