On September 26, a conference was held at the Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance. The event was attended by the medical-teaching and student staff of the college. The conference began with a minute of silence in memory of the souls of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our Martyrs and the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan.

Making an introductory speech, the director of the college, Honored Doctor Mehman Rzayev, spoke about the unity and solidarity of the Azerbaijani people around the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev on September 27, 2020, in response to the next military aggression of the Armenian armed forces against our country, and about the determination and will, unity and solidarity of our soldiers and officers who showed courage in the Patriotic War that began to liberate our occupied lands, our civilians working in the rear, and our people as a whole. He emphasized that the brave Azerbaijani army, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, liberated our lands that had been under Armenian occupation for 30 years, and at the expense of the blood of our martyrs and the lives of our soldiers and officers, they wrote the word “Victory” in golden letters in the history of honor of Azerbaijan:

“Today, each of us, as citizens of a victorious country, with open foreheads and white faces, has thrown off 30 years of shame in our hearts. Now Karabakh is Azerbaijan. Our martyrs are Heroes. Every Azerbaijani who sacrificed his life for the Motherland is our supreme source of pride. Years will pass, and Azerbaijan will develop day by day. Our heroes who wrote history with their blood today will always live in our hearts. The life of each of them is an example for us. Martyrs do not die, they rise to the highest level and live in hearts and histories,” M. Rzayev added.

Then the speakers spoke about the solidarity of our people during the 44-day Patriotic War. It was emphasized that while our brave and heroic soldiers were fighting and liberating the lands on the front line, everyone in the rear tried to help the army, as if demonstrating their support for the sons of the homeland who were ready to sacrifice their lives there with their own efforts, even if only a little.

At the end of the event, a short film titled “The Road to Victory on Memorial Day” was shown.
