An event called “Let's say NO to Corruption” was held at the Ganja Medical College. Speaking at the meeting, the college's doctor-teachers Yegana Huseynova, Javahir Garayeva, and Shargiya Huseynova emphasized that corruption is one of the main factors hindering development in every area of society, negatively affecting progressive development, and posing a serious threat to economic and social progress:
“The existence of corruption, in addition to undermining national and universal values, also undermines the democratic and legal state structure. Corruption cases contradict the values of honesty and justice and over time reduce social trust, threaten the well-being of society, and are assessed as a criminal act that hinders socio-economic development,” said Y. Huseynova.
Other speakers also emphasized that reforms are being carried out in our country to ensure the sustainability of anti-corruption measures and to prevent situations that create conditions for bribery. It was noted that the “National Action Plan on Strengthening the Fight against Corruption for 2022-2026” was approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated April 4, 2022. The main goals of the Action Plan in this direction are the development of management mechanisms in the state structure, the formation of an anti-corruption environment in the private sector within the framework of international standards, and the improvement of the legislative framework based on progressive international experience.
It was also noted that the National Action Plan serves to unite the methods of combating corruption of separate action-oriented institutions.
At the end, a video clip entitled “Corruption is a scourge of society” was shown.
