An event was held at the Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health on the occasion of May 15, International Family Day. It was noted at the meeting that International Family Day serves to once again focus the attention of all people living on our planet on solving family problems.

Speaking, the director of the college, Honored Doctor Mehman Rzayev, said that the formation of the main principles of state family policy in independent Azerbaijan is connected with the name of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. He emphasized that the Great Leader, emphasizing the importance of protecting national spiritual values, said:

“One of the national traditions of the Azerbaijani people is that attention and care for the child has been the main duty of every family, every person, a fundamental part of our spirituality.”

Rzayev added that the family policy of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is being purposefully implemented in Azerbaijan today. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the country's first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva pay great attention and care to the protection of national spiritual values.

Other speakers, doctors and teachers - Gulshan Bagirova, Afet Ismayilova, Zarema Huseynova, spoke about family values ​​and the attitude towards family relations in Azerbaijan.

It was noted that the International Day of Families has been celebrated since 1994 in accordance with the resolution of the UN General Assembly. Azerbaijan joined this tradition in 2008.

It was emphasized that in order to preserve family values ​​and pass them on to future generations, educate young people in the spirit of respect for the elderly, promote a culture of peace and tolerance in the family, and a healthy lifestyle, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Issues was established in Azerbaijan, and this organization organizes the Family Holiday every year in different regions.
