The event, which began with the playing of the National Anthem and a minute of silence in memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country, was attended by the medical-teaching and student staff of Ganja Medical College. Opening the meeting with an introductory speech, the director of the college, Honored Doctor Mehman Rzayev, stated that the Khojaly genocide committed by the Armenian military units and the soldiers of the 366th regiment of the CIS based in Khankendi on the night of February 25-26 and the bloody crimes of the Armenian insidious policy will never be erased from our memory. He emphasized that what happened in Khojaly is not only a genocide against the Azerbaijani people, but a bloody crime directed against all of humanity. Rzayev added that one of the goals set by the Azerbaijani state today is to make the Khojaly genocide known to the world and to bring to justice those who played a role and participated in this massacre. He concluded his speech with the words of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev on the importance of continuous and consistent activities to inform the world community about the Khojaly genocide: “The truth about the Khojaly genocide, which is an integral part of the ethnic cleansing policy carried out by Armenian chauvinist circles against Azerbaijanis in the 19th-20th centuries, must be conveyed to the world community and the parliaments of foreign countries, and this extremely serious war crime directed against the Azerbaijani people and humanity in general must receive its legal and political assessment on an international scale.”

Then, speaking, Tunzala Shafiyeva, an employee of the Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health, and Aysu Yusifli, a first-year student, also looked back at that terrible history and stated that this bloody tragedy will never be erased from the memories of our people. It was noted that the Khojaly tragedy, which is one of the most terrible massacres of humanity, must be given an international assessment, and those who committed these horrors must be punished.

Then, an artistic eternal composition dedicated to the Khojaly tragedy was demonstrated, performed by the students of the college.

The event featured a screening of the film "We Have Not Forgotten the Khojaly Genocide."
