Transition meeting of PROACT Training Program was held

Since July 2020, the PROACT Training Program, implemented by UNICEF with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), supported by TABIB and the World Health Organization (WHO), will strengthen the capacity of local health workers in the field of prevention and response to COVID-19 , mobilizing international experiences, establishing partnerships between relevant national healthcare partners, and strengthening the educational methodology through the newly established PROACT Training Centers in 12 district healthcare institutions and improving the skills of local trainers and training participants.

Due to the transition phase of the said Program on May 31, 2021, TABIB will take over the responsibility of PROACT Training Centers to carry out continuous measures to increase the capacity of the health sector. To celebrate this important event, a virtual "PROACT Training Program Transition Meeting" was held via Zoom on May 31.

The final transition meeting of the Proact Training Program, which was implemented jointly with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), technical support of the Representative Office of the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, and the executive of the UNICEF Representation in Azerbaijan and TABIB, with the participation of 90 people. was held. Director of Ganja Medical College Rzayev Mehman and doctor Farajova Aygun also participated in the virtual meeting. MEDICAL coordinator of the Proact project, Dr. Emil Iskanderov, expressed his deep gratitude to Mehman Rzayev, director of the Ganja Medical College, for creating the conditions for the training center in Ganja to be held at the college.

The program has ensured the establishment of 12 training centers in the districts and the training of more than 3,000 health workers on topics such as prevention of Covid-19 infection, response measures and management of Covid-19 cases, and raising awareness about this infection.

Although the number of new infections seems to be decreasing, the fight against Covid-19 is still ongoing. That is why it is necessary to regularly develop the skills of healthcare workers.
