The fact that the peoples of Azerbaijan and Turkey have very ancient historical roots, the connection established on the basis of national and spiritual foundations, and the fact that they have the same language, religion, culture and ancestry, literally reflects that these two states are brothers. Turkey-Azerbaijan is a fraternal country with unprecedentedly rich and friendly relations in the world. The arrival of the Turko-Caucasus Islamic army to Azerbaijan in 1918 under the command of Nuru Pasha, saving Baku from the aggression of the Dashnaks, is an example of the unity of this nation. When Azerbaijan regained its independence in 1991, Turkey was the first country to recognize it.

Diplomatic relations were established between the two countries on January 14, 1992. Periodic mutual visits of both heads of state and government, as well as other officials, played an important role in the development of bilateral cooperation, created the basis for the rise of strategic partnership relations between our countries to a high level, and at the same time led to the signing of contracts and agreements in various fields.

The relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are developing dynamically as a result of the policies implemented by the leadership of both countries, the level of relations between these two countries is entering a qualitatively new stage. Today, many strategic projects connecting Azerbaijan and Turkey are operating. Economic relations further increase the strength of the relationship between the two brotherly nations. Most importantly, relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are important for the entire Turkic world and have a strong influence on the development of relations between Turkic-speaking countries. Currently, relations between our countries are being formed at a high level on the political level, and important steps are being taken to further strengthen relations in all fields. The existing potential of Azerbaijan and Turkey allows to significantly increase the volume of mutual trade turnover. In particular, it is expected that the signing of new agreements between our countries within the framework of the last visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Baku will serve to further strengthen political-economic and military relations. while talking about various directions of cooperation with the participation of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, he emphasized that they attach special importance to the relations between the military industrial complexes. which strengthens, ensures the development of relations, moves forward in an organized manner and ensures further unification and close cooperation of our people.

This native relationship between Azerbaijan and Turkey has existed for years and will continue. Great leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev have an exceptional role in the expansion of these relations. One of the important components of our country's foreign policy is the strengthening and expansion of relations with Turkey, which is a reliable strategic partner of Azerbaijan in modern geopolitical conditions.

The Turkish government has supported our country in relation to the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict from the first day and has declared that it is in favor of territorial integrity and a peaceful solution to the problem. The moral support of the Turkish state to us is indispensable even in the war that started on September 27, which ended with our 44-day historical victory.

Thus, until today, Azerbaijan-Turkey has always supported each other in difficult times and has been a herald of each other's right voice at the international level.

We can proudly say that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's "Azerbaijan's joy is our joy, and its sorrow is our sorrow" and the great leader Heydar Aliyev's "We are one nation, two states" have already shaped the history, present day and perspectives of relations between the two countries both in Turkey and Azerbaijan. it is considered as the most perfect formula that expresses itself precisely. Supporting this opinion, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "We speak the same language, belong to the same faith, have a common historical past, are brothers not in words but in deeds, one nation, two states."

Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev left an indelible mark on the history of the Turkish people by once again setting an example of a true leader to the whole world with strong political will, perfect restraint and perseverance in the struggle for justice for the Motherland.
