"November 8 - Victory Day" was celebrated with great solemnity in the city of Ganja, as in other parts of the republic. The event was closely attended by the director of Ganja Medical College and the teacher-student staff.

The event was declared open with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The dear memory of our martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Head of Ganja City Executive Niyazi Bayramov noted that under the leadership of the Supreme Commander Muzaffar, the Brave Azerbaijan Army ended the occupation that had been going on for almost 30 years in just 44 days and expelled the enemy from our ancestral lands. During the Patriotic War, the city of Ganja also experienced difficult times and was subjected to rocket fire, but it was not broken. On the contrary, the residents of the city have united even more tightly around President Ilham Aliyev.

Later, the opening of the "Memorial Monument Complex" built in the "Istiqlal" park took place with the participation of the city administration and the families of the martyrs. The construction of the "Memorial Monument Complex" started in May of this year. The complex, with a total area of 1200 sq.m., consists of iron and concrete slabs. Pictures of about 600 martyrs and various attributes were printed on the 50-meter-long and 5-meter-high plates. The height of the statue of the victorious Azerbaijani soldier, which is part of the "Memorial Monument Complex", is 5 meters with the pedestal. Two fountains were built here in memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War. Each of the springs is 6.1 meters long, 1.3 meters wide, and 2.2 meters high. The author of the monument built by Ganja City Executive Authority is Sharif Sharifov, an honored artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In the end, Ganja State Drama Theater announced "Azerbaijan, Happy Victory Day!" The literary-artistic composition was shown. With the participation of young volunteers, 44 doves, symbols of peace, were released into the air.

On the occasion of "November 8 - Victory Day", a concert program was organized at the Ganja State Philharmonic named after F. Amirov. The city administration, families of martyrs, participants of the Patriotic War, as well as the teaching staff of Ganja Medical College took part in the concert, which was organized with the support of Ganja City Executive Authority and the organization of Ganja Regional Culture Department.
