Ganja Medical College, one of the oldest medical educational institutions in Azerbaijan, is celebrating its 90th anniversary. On this occasion, a meeting was held with the participation of the staff and guests. The director of the college, honored doctor Mehman Rzayev, who opened the event with his opening speech, noted that Ganja Medical College started its activities as a Medical Polytechnic in December 1931. Later, it was named the School of Paramedics and Midwives, and since 1939 it has been named the Kirovabad Basic Medical School named after N.K. Krupskaya, since 1989 it has been named the Ganja Medical School, and since June 2010 it has been named the Ganja Medical College. During its operation, Ganja Medical College, which has trained tens of thousands of secondary medical workers for the healthcare institutions of our Republic, currently trains students in the fields of Medicine, Midwifery, Medical prophylaxis, Laboratory diagnostics, Orthopedic dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing:

"Five years ago, there was not a single laboratory in the college. Today, our college has laboratories for almost all specialties. Orthopedic dentistry, laboratory diagnostics, medical prophylaxis laboratories, robot-exercise training center, which can meet high standards, impart knowledge and skills that can be used in modern medicine to our students. In order to become professional mid-skilled medical personnel of the future, we have provided them with theoretical knowledge and the opportunity to perform practical operations on the robot. Thus, in this center, students learn how to insert bladder and vein catheters, intubation, perform electrocardiograms, and use a defibrillator. This will help them grow as professional medical staff in the future," added M. Rzayev. The director of the college added that there are 5 modern laboratories operating in the educational institution, which is being overhauled and equipped with all the necessary medical equipment and inverters.

"On the eve of the 90th anniversary of Ganja Medical College, in order to present the intermediate results of the training programs held within the framework of the projects "Support to Vaccination against COVID-19" and "Solidarity Initiative for Health" jointly implemented by the European Union (EU) and the World Health Organization (WHO), WHO- It was a very proud event that the conference was held by the Country Office of Ganja Medical College. The participation of well-known doctors and scientists of the world in this conference, their positive opinions about the conditions created in the college inspire us to be even more active in the future," said the director of the college, noting that he hopes that even bigger projects will be held in the future.

Touching on the future plans, Mehman Rzayev said that in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the college, there will be continuous innovations, and noted that "by the end of this year, 3 more modern laboratories have been installed and will be made available to students in the near future. It is a Pharmaceutical chemistry analytical laboratory, an ICT laboratory and an obstetrics laboratory. We hope that these high conditions created for students will help them grow as professional medical workers in the future." Mehman Rzayev noted that a modern reading room-cafe will be built for students in the near future:

"Today, we have a modern electronic and traditional library in our college. The classrooms are fully equipped and technically modern. We have a gym and fitness hall with all facilities. In our laboratories, our students can improve their knowledge in real conditions. The newly established laboratories will allow us to further improve our work and operate as a state-of-the-art educational institution," said Mehman Rzayev.

Then Mehman Rzayev brought to the attention of the team the congratulations of Ganja Medical College on the occasion of its 90th anniversary and the special congratulations of Teymur Musayev, Deputy Minister of Health of Azerbaijan. He noted that among the congratulations are the congratulations of the Country Office of the World Health Organization, the Baku Office of TIKA, the Head of Ganja City Executive Power and many higher education institutions operating in Azerbaijan.

At the event, a group of employees of the college were awarded with special diplomas on the occasion of the 90th anniversary.

At the end, Mehman Rzayev once again congratulated the staff and students of the College on the occasion of the 90th anniversary and a commemorative photo was taken.
