A meeting was held with students on volunteering and its promotion at Ganja Medical College of the Ministry of Health. Representatives of Ganja regional Easy Service Center No. 2 operating under the State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan also participated in the event. At the meeting, it was noted that volunteering activities are expanding in our country, and they talked about the work done to expand the activities of young people in this direction. It was emphasized that volunteering is a type of activity that is not prohibited by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and is considered to be socially useful and unprofitable in connection with doing work or providing services. The real development in the field of volunteering in Azerbaijan began after the return to power of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. Therefore, the remarkable rise of the volunteer movement is connected with the name of our National Leader. So, starting from the first years of the administration of the genius leader, cooperation between public and private sectors and civil society has been focused on for the purpose of comprehensive and sustainable development. It is important to involve people voluntarily in this process and take advantage of their field experience. Thus, in 1998, a joint project of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism, the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations Volunteers Program was launched. In 1998-2000, as a result of this program, a strong volunteer team was created in the country, and the principles of volunteerism were started to be promoted to a wide audience. It was also emphasized that the declaration of 2020 as the "Year of Volunteers" in our country by the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is a sign of the state's concern for this field. Today, the contributions of volunteers in all fields to the development of our country are obvious, and young volunteers are closely involved in all major international competitions and events.
