On September 26, a conference was held in Ganja Medical College in connection with Memorial Day. The doctor-teacher and student staff of the college took part in the event. The conference began with a one-minute silence commemoration of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the spirit of our martyrs and the playing of the Azerbaijan National Anthem.
The director of the college, Honored Doctor Mehman Rzayev, who delivered the opening speech, said that in response to the next military aggression of the Armenian armed forces against our country on September 27, 2020, the people of Azerbaijan united as an "Iron Fist" around Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the liberation of our occupied lands. Our soldiers and officers who showed bravery in the Patriotic War, our civilians working in the rear, spoke about the determination and will, unity and solidarity of our people as a whole. He emphasized that the brave Azerbaijani army, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, liberated our lands under Armenian occupation for 30 years, and at the expense of the blood of our martyrs, at the cost of the lives of our soldiers and officers, they wrote the word "Victory" in golden letters in the history of honor of Azerbaijan:
"Today, each of us, with open foreheads and white faces, as citizens of the victorious country, has thrown away the 30-year-old niskil in our hearts. Now Karabakh is Azerbaijan. Our martyrs are heroes. Every Azerbaijani child who died for the homeland is our source of great pride. Years will pass, Azerbaijan will develop day by day. Today, our heroes who wrote history with their blood will always live in our hearts. The life of each of them is an example for us. Martyrs do not die, they rise to the highest level and live in hearts and history," added M. Rzayev.
Then the speakers emphasized that September 27 has changed the unfair historical process that started in the distant past. As a result of forty-four days of military operations, the Azerbaijani Army destroyed the armed forces of Armenia and wrote a new day in our history, and our martyrs were avenged. Of course, every day of these 44 days is the glorious history of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan, which fought the war of the 21st century, sounded the world with its military power and might. During the Victory march of the Azerbaijani Army, Muzaffar committed war crimes by resorting to enemy provocations and targeting innocent civilians. As a result of the strikes carried out by the Armenian armed forces, about 30 thousand shells and 227 rockets were fired on the territory of regions and cities inhabited by Azerbaijani civilians. Having been defeated on the battlefield, Armenia continuously launched rocket attacks on Ganja, Mingachevir, Tartar, Barda, Gabala and other settlements and committed war crimes and crimes against humanity. In total, 93 people, including 12 minors and 27 women, were killed, and 407 people, including 50 minors and 101 women, received various degrees of physical injuries as a result of the firing of the enemy's armed units on the civilian population.
Within the framework of the conference, students recited poems about Memorial Day.
At the end of the event, a short film called "Memorial Day is the road to victory" was shown.
