On 28.10.2022, the presentation of "National Debate Program" was held at Ganja Medical College.

Director of Ganja Medical College Mehman Rzayev, teachers and students participated in the presentation.

The speakers gave detailed information about the importance of debate for students, the history and achievements of the Ganja Medical College Debate Club, as well as the advantages of debate and what works have been done in relation to debate in recent years, and what benefits debate will bring to students. What is a debate in general?

Debate is an interactive and discussion method consisting of representatives of different opposing sides. Debate represents a broader understanding than deductive reasoning, which only analyzes the conclusion, factual argument, which only determines whether something is true, and rhetoric, which consists only of persuasive tactics. In debate, logical consistency, factual accuracy, and emotional appeal to an audience are critical to persuasion, and the side that can more skillfully argue an issue in a superior context and frame wins over the other. The main role in the debate is the consensus reached by the parties or reaching a joint formal conclusion rather than the facts. In formal debate competitions, there are rules and frameworks that apply to each side.

Debates are held both on political issues in official bodies and parliaments, as well as for scientific and creative purposes. The main goal of debate as an art method is to inculcate the ability to rationally discuss with an opponent in any position under equal conditions.
