A conference on table culture was organized at Ganja Medical College on 03.11.2022.
At the conference, detailed information about table culture, table decoration, table maintenance, food varieties were presented and demonstrated visually.
The experiences and habits that our great-grandfathers and grandmothers accumulated over the centuries in their daily life and way of life played an important role in the creation and formation of our material culture. It is an indisputable fact that table culture has its place and its beauty in the multifaceted and rich culture of the Azerbaijani people. Table culture has historically been the main factor shaping the lifestyle, household, behavior, taste, and outlook of our people.
The rich culinary culture is one of the signs of the people's antiquity. In this sense, the history of a nation can be learned not only by seeing its museums and monuments, but also by getting to know its cuisine.
Azerbaijan, one of the oldest countries of the East, is also famous for its colorful and unique culinary culture. About 2000 types of dishes are known in our national cuisine. Our tables are decorated with a variety of dishes - hot dishes, cold snacks, sweets, tea set...
There are special rules for serving food in Azerbaijan. First, velvety tea is brought, sometimes with special herbs or spices. Tea not only prepares the culture for digestion until the food is served, but also provides an opportunity to establish communication between the guests. Then the food is laid out on the table.
Salads also have a special place in Azerbaijani cuisine. The therapeutically important mineral waters bring beauty to our table and are very good.
Lunch and dinner usually end with shakerbura, baklava and other delicious sweets
The fact that our national dishes are so delicious is also due to the generosity of Azerbaijan's nature and the variety and quality of food in our dishes. But how should a person eat to maintain health? Experts advise to eat each of the national dishes we are used to, but in moderation. In short, you should eat according to your stomach, not what your eyes want.
